Fun at the Fabric Store

Here is a picture I took on my drive in to work this morning. The weathermen failed to get it right once again and we only got about 5 inches of heavy wet snow instead of the10 that was predicted. It was pretty, but I give it permission to melt quickly.

Sunday I made a trip to Joann Fabrics...one of my favorite stores. I haven't been there for a while and it felt so good....like coming home. I bought fabric to make three new clocks for my etsy shop, FourDogDay. I learned a while ago that I have to buy fabric that other people might like and not just fabric that I like. So, with that thought in mind...here are the three I bought. Can you guess which one is NOT something I would normally buy? HAHA! I just thought it might make a fun little desk clock. I'm hoping someone will like it! The other two I LOVE!! The green one is awesome and the old fashion looking one is so pretty. I'll show you the clocks when I get them done.

Then I bought fabric for three new tote bags. I love all of these and I can't wait to get started on them! The prints are the outside and the more solid colors are the lining. Flowers, darling kitties and bumble bees!

The fabric store was bright and colorful from wall to wall, and everything just shouted "SPRING"! It was so awesome.

The Missing Paint Swatches

Last week I talked about picking a color to paint my living room. I had the little booklets with the tiny little color samples in them, but once I started to narrow it down, I knew I needed more.

I went to Menards and picked out a bunch of the nice big 4 X 5 color swatches they have in the colors I liked. I brought them home and I taped about 6 different greens to two different walls in my living room. Then I took the accent color swatches and I tucked them in around the back of the green they went with...kind of like this.

Each time I was in the living room, I would notice the color swatches and slowly I was starting to eliminate the ones I didn't like. Then it happened....

We got home Friday night from the craft show set up, and as I walked through the living room I noticed that Wrigley's little bed had something all over it. I walked over to take a closer look. I bent down to see what it was, and it turned out to be what was left of a lovely yellow accent color swatch. I looked up at the wall and one whole set of swatches was missing! I knew where the yellow was, but what happened to the green, the blue and the brown? Obviously they fell off the wall, and I was hoping the rest of them had slid under the couch when they fell.

Uh, no!

The colors looked really nice on the wall....I did not check to see how they looked in the back yard.

Green and Yellow and Blue...Oh My!

She's makin' a list and checkin' it twice...gonna find out what colors are nice...I am almost ready to paint!!

I have gone from dozens of color charts to two!

It's looking like my living room will either be Sassafras Green or Meadowgrass Green.

The greens are both awesome...one is a little more yellow than the other. That one they show with accents like greeny yellow, a very light khaki, a deep blue gray and a very dark brown. That one is probably my favorite.

The other green is a bit more mossy, which I love, but they show it with accents like a golden yellowish color, an army green and a dark brown. Not a big fan of the golden yellowish color or the army green.....

I'm just not very good with colors and I know they show those accent colors for a reason, and that is because someone that REALLY knows their colors says they go with that green. I can't take the mossy green and use the accents from the yellowy green...it doesn't look good.

So.....I am probably going to go with the yellowish green. Then we will do dark brown couch covers and accent with the blue gray and the lemony yellow. I think it will look awesome. I'll make lots of pillows too.

This little chest is the one I will paint to use as a small coffee table. I could do it in the yellow or the blue gray. This is going to be so much fun!

If I do the living room green, then I think the bedroom will be blue....with yellow and green accents or maybe with brown? Can't you just feel my confusion and frustration here?????

I don't know what to do!!! I think I am just going to do the living room and worry about the bedroom when I get to the bedroom which will be after the living room and the bathroom......oh, the bathroom....no idea what color to do the bathroom. What color is your bathroom again?

I am buying the living room paint this weekend. Wish me luck!
