The Great Apron Photo Shoot

Okay, so I am trying to get my new aprons listed in MyOtherShop. Neither of the girls are around this weekend to model for me, so out of desperation, I decided to model them myself and have Irv take the photos. The first clue that this was NOT going to work was when Irv didn't know how to turn on the camera!!!

First I put on a nice long sleeve white t-shirt. I thought that would look good with all of the aprons. It's a kind of thinner t-shirt so I removed the Band-Aid on my arm from donating blood this morning so it wouldn't show through the sleeve, and went to get apron number one. When I got to the closet, I happened to look down only to see a big splotch of blood on my white t-shirt where the Band-Aid had been and I guess should have still been!

I washed the shirt, put a small Band-Aid on my arm and grabbed a gray short sleeved t-shirt. It would have to do.

Irv took some pictures in the kitchen by the stove and I made sure to keep my "wounded" arm behind me and all was well. I am not a very photogenic person as you can tell. I don't show my funny crooked teeth when I smile and I hate having my picture taken. That really should have been another clue that this wasn't going to work.

Next we headed outside to take pictures of two craft show/vendor aprons I made. Everything seemed to be going well.

UGH!!!! When I uploaded the pictures....the truth came out! First, the indoor shots don't crop down to a nice square like I need for etsy and you can see a bag and the bottle of Sparky's "don't eat other dogs poop pills ". Then in every outdoor picture not only am I squinting really bad, but I forgot about the Band-Aid AND the ties from the aprons are hanging between my legs like a long tail!!!! In addition to that, my t-shirt was fitting a little snug and not only did my upper belly protrude, but so did my boobs...and let me tell you, I didn't think that was possible.....AND not only that, because my spine is crooked, and I stand crooked....you guessed it....the protruding boobs were also crooked! Great look!!!

I tried to salvage a couple of pictures so you can see the aprons, deleted all the rest, and when Irv gets back from running errands, it will be round two of the great apron photo shoot!

I love it! I had kind of the same experience last year. You look great in your pictures. Your aprons are wonderful.

I think the picture taking part of Etsy is the worst part. I can't get a good picture of my collages to save my life!

I do think your pictures are good and love the red kitchen! I also like how you have the close up pictures that show the fabric and your expert stitching!

I love my vendor apron! I think everyone should buy one from you!

You are all so kind! I am excited about getting some of them listed. I am keeping the little polka dot one for me. I thought about having Irv model...just wasn't sure if people would find it humorous or pathetic! :) HAHA!

Key Kathy, one more thought. Hope you will make some "plus size" aprons too! For big, crooked boobs!

Your post made me laugh! Sounds like what I go through when I try to model for pics. Love the cute little aprons. Did you happen to see the cowgirl aprons I'm collaborating with my friend Marj on? We've listed them on my blog (and hers).
Thanks for stopping by! I'll be back to see what you're up to soon.
