Dog Fight Follow Up

If you read my post the other day, you know that two of our doggies got in a fight and silly Irv stuck his hand in there and got it chomped. I thought he needed stitches, he thought he was too busy. We took the bandage off the next night and cleaned it up again and rewrapped it and all was well.

He showed it to the nurse at the school the next day and she checked it all out. She said there was some swelling, but it wasn't oozing anything ugly, so she cleaned it up again and rewrapped it. She also told him to leave the splint off if he can, and NOT to get any dirt in the wound. She's been cleaning it up and rewrapping it everyday. Irv took her a set of coasters I made as a thank you. :)

When I got home from work the first day, he showed me how nice she wrapped it up and he proceeded to head outside to get some work done. I look outside and he had taken a bag, made a little finger "glove" and taped it with.....of course, duct tape.

Well at least he wasn't getting it dirty! I made him pose for a picture....and I can't show you the other picture because it wasn't the right finger and this IS a "G" rated blog!

Irv's common sense turned out pretty doggone good!

I hope his finger/s are getting better. OUCH... This can be very scary to see happen. We had 2 dogs at one time, Kelly a Lakeland and Buddy a Welsh terrier. xo

He could have held up three fingers and said, "Read between the lines." And yet another use for duct tape.:)

Yup, I think duct tape can fix just about anything! Hope the finger is healing just fine.

Have a great weekend,

Poor Irv! It looks like a very manly bandage.

Glad Irv's finger is o.k but I bet it is really sore, I love the plastic bag protection I have done this myself when I have hurt something and wanted to take a shower a plastic bag is a must to keep things dry. Hope you are well have a great weekend.

Wow, it must have been a nasty bite that it's still needing wound care. I hope the dogs are remorseful when they see what he's going thru. At lease Irv is still doing all his regular stuff.

Has Irv had his shots??? Sorry he got injured and hope he heals quickly. My dog is old and lazy, but you don't get between her and her food!

LOL! Such a fun post! Not the part about Irv getting bit, but the last part was cute! That's nice of the nurse to change the dressing for him. And good for Irv to think of wrapping it to keep it clean!
