Sometimes I listen to the radio online, but there are some strange DJs out there, and at times there is more talking and fun and games than there is music. I do have one oldies station that I really like and that is WLS-FM out of Chicago. Lots of great old music and not too much talking.
My son, Matt introduced me to Pandora a while ago and I really like it a lot. I am a little behind when it comes to things like this, so you have probably already heard of it. If you haven't though, Pandora is a website where you can enter your favorite musical groups or solo artists and they will play their music for you. Then they also play similar music by other artists that you may or may not have heard of.
If you like the song they play, you can click that you like it and they will continue to play that kind of music. If you don't like it, you can click that you don't like it and it stops immediately and moves to the next song. You can see the name of the artist and the album the song comes from. It's great.
Once Pandora learns your likes and dislikes, it's wonderful because you can just listen to a great variety of music by many different artists. My "mix" right now includes Dave Matthews, Jack Johnson, Bob Marley and Elton John. I know...strange combination, but I like different kinds of music and don't like to listen to one thing all day long. Pandora has introduced me to a number of other artists that I had never heard of like Jason Mraz, Brett Dennen and Ben Harper.
So, if you are tired of the same old music...head on over to Pandora and create your very own radio station and let the music begin!
