Got An Opinion?

This is going to be short and sweet because I am trying to get my things together for the weekend. For those of you that are new to my blog...my daughter is getting married Saturday! We are headed into the city at about 11:30 tomorrow morning. We are all so excited. It's going to be such a great weekend. My sister is already at the hotel downtown. She got in last night, and Matt will be in at about 3:00 tomorrow. Nails get done at 2:00 and dinner is at 6:30. Saturday, we have the whole day to play because pictures aren't until 4:30 with the wedding ceremony at 7:00 p.m. I will post pictures next week!

Okay, my wonderful blog friends, I need your opinions. I am planning to start making throw pillows for MyOtherShop soon. I am very undecided on color, size and shape....I know what I like, but that isn't necessarily what others would like.

Do you use throw pillows on your couches and/or beds?

Just out of curiosity....what are your favorite colors? Do you like prints? Solids? Funky? Simple? Embellishments? Removable covers? Lacy? Rugged? Big? Small? Square? Rectangular? Round? See, there is so much to think about.

I'm sure every person will have a different opinion, but that's the fun of it. What do you like?

I haven't made a pillow for quite a few years, but I am really into the fabric thing ever since I bought some for the coasters and light switch covers. Now I just feel like sewing again.

So, tell me...what do you like?

Kathy, have a wonderful time at the wedding. I can't wait to see the photos:)

As for pillows, I like them in all shapes, colors and sizes. A pillow is such a versatile accessory - you can't go wrong with any of the options:):)

Congrats to your daughter! Hope you have a great time! As for the pillows.... I personally like round pillows like bigger then 12 inches that's soft cotton outside and removable cover. I use throw pillows to prop my back when I sit down on my computer desk or on the sofa. My mom has several square throw pillows on the sofas and she likes solid light colors like pinks/blues/greens nothing too bright. My sister she's in college likes those cylinder pillows that she can sleep on and hug and maybe even use as some kind of pillow fight weapon and she likes bright colors and fun cute designs. Oh I think I wrote way too much... have fun at the wedding!

Remember (and remind the bride) that the day is worthless if not fun-- let the details go if they cause stress! :)

Now... pillows... I have a couple throw pillows b/c our couch is so uncomfortable without them (wish we'd realized it sooner but it happens about 20 mins into a movie)! Frilly- not my thing. I think removable is good so they clean easily, so long as they stay on *securely* and ocean blues and greens are probably my fave colors these days. Good luck with your new project! And the wedding! :D

I'm with pillows like I am with beads: mix 'em up, give me all shapes and sizes, solid colors and funky combos. I know the wedding will be an event to remember. Treasure every minute of your weekend!

I hope you have an absolutely WONDERFUL weekend. Yes, post lots of pictures.

As for the pillows, how fun! I use pillows on both my sofa and bed and I usually like the soft square ones for the sofa because they're more comfy for cuddling with. For the bed, I like different sizes. I use two square solid ones and then one small rectangular patterned one in the center.

Almost forgot colors. In my den, right now I'm using the bright green (I guess more of a chartreuse? I can't spell) and a bright aqua blue. Gosh I think you could go anywhere with colors. I've seen the blue/green combo, blue/brown, hot pink is cool, orange.

Have fun!

Have a wonderful day tomorrow! May their union be long and happy....

Pillows! Love 'em! My biggest requirement is that they be comfortable to USE. No beads or chunky stuff to get in the way of a good cuddle....

And yes, they are on every sofa, chair, bed, floor in my house. I've made most of them myself, however, so I'm not an ideal customer. : P
