With the craft show only four days away, half my day is spent weather watching. Just kidding, but I am watching.
I'm not sure why I torture myself like that, because the forecast changes daily and sometimes more than once a day. You might check in the morning and they say that day is going to be party cloudy with a chance of rain and 64 degrees. Then you check in later and it's going to be sunny and 58.
I certainly have no control over the weather, so why do I feel the need to check it a hundred times a day? The weather is going to be what it's going to be. Can you believe that every night this week when I have watched the 9:00 p.m. news, I have written down what they said the weather would be for Sunday? How pathetic is that?
Right now for Sunday they are saying 63 degrees and mostly sunny. I'll take it. Just don't get me started on how I am when there are severe storms in the forecast!

You know how I was watching the weather when I had my show coming up. They said 80% chance of thunderstorms 2 days before...that helped me in the decision to not do the show...Then, it ended up not raining one drop that day and the show was a success. So, you never know. You will be fine. But, I don't blame you. I am the same way. (except for the writing the weather down thing...I am not that organized.)
Angela...writing it down is NOT being organized, it's having a screw loose! :)
Ah i haven't done an outdoor show but lugging stuff in the rain is never good either. Hope for the best and prepare for the worst. Good luck!!!! =D
Tell me about it! Graduation at our university is Monday...outdoors! So we are checking the forecast every hour and even calling local TV stations to get the inside scoop!
Oh Lanyard I am so glad to hear I am not alone...but you have hundreds of people to be concerned about...I just have me! :)
You've got a lot invested in this activity -- and I'm not (just) talking time & money -- so you are m...a...y...b...e just shy of getting a little obsessive about the details.
Makes sense to me!
Here's hoping that it will be great weather....
Weather.com is one of my best friends too (10 day forcast being a fav) Good luck with the show!
i always watch the weather because so much of my life takes place outdoors....but the one thing i've learned from all that watching? the weather forecast is wrong over 50% of the time ;-)
My parents are farmer. Back before the internet the major weather source was the evening news. If any child spoke during the weather severe consiquences would occur. To this day I wait until after the time I know the weather will be on to call. So your story reminds me of them.
