When we just had Sparky and Wrigley, they would run around the yard and play with each other. It was cute and they got some exercise.
When we got Maggie...everything changed. First of all, just like with people....three is a crowd, and poor little Sparky was the odd girl out. Maggie and Wrigley became the best of friends and played together all of the time....and let me tell you...those two dogs know how to play.
We have a big tree is the back yard and they run and run and run.....around and around and around the tree and the yard. They play tag and hide and seek and every other game imaginable and the result is........our grass is about gone!
Irv tried to seed it and lay straw down. Oh, they loved that! The straw became part of the game. Not only did they have it all over the entire yard, but they ate it too. When Irv watered it, they liked it even more. Dogs + Mud = Happy!
Today Irv went and bought more dirt, more seed and........fencing. We WILL have grass again one way or another!

dogs will be dogs and i love 'em but sometimes aren't they just so....sort of pains in the....??? the one i have now is a digger....haven't had one of those in over 20 years ;-)
That made me laugh out loud! It reminded me of when we had our first two dogs - they played so wonderfully with each other. Now, we only have Winslow and every once in a while I think about getting him a playmate, but I'm not sure I'm ready for that... Hope you'll have a wonderful start to your week!! Love, Silke
You and Irv are so nice to provide a home gym for your dogs! Funny story and pictures.
Sorry the dogs made such a mess!

I know it may not be too funny to you but I just had to laugh. The grass will grow eventually.
Kathy, when you can, please stop by my blog as I have an award for you. Congrats! And, at the very end of the blog I put in a plug for Mom and Pop sites.
I can just imagine how dizzy you must get watching them!
How joyful playful pets are! Even if they tear up the yard. I feel bad for you, but it's early in the spring so there's lots of time to mend the lawn.
Oh Dear! after reading your post I am so glad I do not have dogs but, yours are obvously very happy and I am sure you would not be without them. You have a big job on your hands with the garden, best of luck.
Love Jillxx
