To Watch Or Not To Watch....That Is The Question

Well, my television season is coming to a close. I love Amazing Race and that's done. I've watched a little Dancing With The Stars this year and that will be done next week. I love American Idol and that will be done next week. I don't get the channel that most of the Cubs games are on, so I can't watch that.....

Hmmmmmm......any good shows that you think I need to watch?

So You Think You Can Dance is starting and I saw that a few times last season. It was kind of fun but not something I really have to watch....although is anything?

Maybe I will see if I can go the entire summer without watching any TV. That might be fun. Could you do that? I think I probably could.

Hi Kathy, there is never anything much to watch in the summer over here so I pick and choose and watch just what I want to but, if the weather is good I just love to out in the garden or doing other things. We don't have Dancing with the stars ours id called Strictly Come Dancing and I love it but it usuallystarts in the autumn. At the moment I am watching The Dorothy's on a Saturday night this is where 10 girls are auditioning for the part of Dorothy in Andrew Lloyd Webbers The Wizard of Oz Stage musical the girls are all very good and they are down to the last three so tonight and tomorrow will see the winner, after that I don't care if I watch t.v again until the autumn. We have good radio over here and on radio 4 BBC you get good plays and discussions so thats good and I love music of any sort and often jig around the kitchen to some good music especially Rod Stewart stuff. Have a good weekend.
Love Jillxx

Not having watched TV for a long, long time, I don't really understand your dilemma. I do watch movies--but this summer I plan to be out in my garden a lot. That's going to seriously eat up a lot of time--I get so caught up I forget the time.

I've been a DWTS fan in past seasons and have watched most of this season but I just haven't been that involved this time around. I started watching AI this season because the nephew of a friend had tried out. He didn't make it to the final 24 but by then I was hooked. I'd like to see Crystal win but Lee is good. It will be interesting to see who does win. I watched a little of Amazing Race because the 2 cowboys were from Ada, OK and I just had to root for them. The other shows we watch are coming to an end. We are usually pretty busy in the summer so the tv probably won't be on much. I don't think we could give it up entirely though.

ron watches a lot of the crime shows (Dateline ID type shows) and he watches a lot of the history channel, so that's usually on in the background. he also likes the show with charlie sheen (if it's too raunchy, he changes the channel - especially if Isaiah is here) and hank hill (that one is usually pretty clean). i watch HGTV and TLC - except there are a lot of shows on that channel that i won't watch, such as the tattoo show and a lot of the new "reality" type shows.

i don't watch that much in the grand scheme of things during the summer. we probably will watch big brother (if i like the beginning, i'll watch it in bits and pieces; 3 times a week is too many). my favorite shows (amazing race, survivor, etc.) aren't on so i'd rather do something else. i might be able to get some cards made this summer or get caught up on my scrapbook pages. that's a dream - but it could happen.

maybe when pigs fly.

On USA in June, some of the series are starting the summer season. But I plan on putting all my videos of the children when they were little onto dvd so I will be watching memories this summer.
Have a great weekend!

There's always "The Bachelorette..." teee heeee. Summer is a good time to craft, clean, and chill without the tube!

Of course, you can now catch TV shows on your computer. I like to keep up the dramas like Greys Anatomy, Medium and House. The competition shows don't appeal to me that much. Anyway, with all the movies coming out on DVD, one can just enjoy movies and forget TV!

I've been watching DWTS and American Idol (love both Lee and Crystal, don't care who wins), and as you say both will soon be over. Try So You Think You Can Dance when it comes on ~ I like it better than DWTS. The dancing is phenomenal when you get past the auditions.

I know I must be certifiably insane, but those 3 shows are the only TV I watch! Ugh. I'd rather read a book than watch a sitcom or even a drama.

Okay, I forgot...I do watch Seinfeld reruns...I am a HUGE Seinfeld fan :)

i have to admit i watch much more tv in the winter than in the summer--in the summer we watch the red sox mostly or hang out in the yard ;-)

i went a few years without tv and i know a lot of people swear by no tv but honestly, i missed it and went back to it. i don't watch a lot--probably an hour or so a day---but when i'm in the mood for it, i like it ;-)

We watch way to much tv!! My favorite thing to do is reading and because of blogging and tv......I haven't done much of that! Will watch Big Brother if I like some of the people.

I think you could do that. I think I could do that too. There's not much on to watch in the summer. It usually just ends up being background noise for me while I read or check the computer.

Yes!! I went about 3 years without very much television at all! When we were getting out of debt, we got rid of our cable in order to put more money on our bills. It was hard at first but after a while it was easy! I was more productive, I read more, and I went for walks more often!

When we moved and got cable again, I was like a crack head!! I watched HGTV until I thought my eyes were going to bleed that first month!

...and speaking of HGTV, I love Summer because "Design Star" is on and it is SO inspirational!

We usually have our netflix dvd's we watch during the summer. For most people, the summer months are wonderful to be outside. For us here in the South (or should I say for me, the heat wimp), the summer months are indoor months. So, I love having a good movie to watch in addition to my art and good books... Hope you are having a great weekend!! Love, Silke
