A Day To Play!

I am off work today for President's Day, but still got up at 5:00 a.m.! Lots to do today.

The shower yesterday that Chris's family had for him and Tresa was very nice. Good food, cute decorations and they got so many wonderful gifts. I gave her the necklace I made for her to wear at the wedding (per her request) and she loves it. We do have one "little" concern though and that is the fact that I make it with copper because she said she liked the antique look, not thinking that the shoes she bought are gold! We spent a lot of time discussing it and decided that she will try everything on for her fitting Saturday and see how it looks. She said that you can't even see her shoes, but I think she is just trying to be nice and not hurt my feelings. I will not be hurt if she can't wear it, but upset that I didn't even give her shoes a thought when I made it. I found the stones and they looked amazing with the copper and I went with it. Well, live and learn. I'll let you know what happens.

I got so much stuff done this weekend it was wonderful. I am making some new items for MyOtherShop and making some new cards for FourDogDay. Everything is going well and I should be listing a lot of things this week once I get them all photographed....maybe today. I made another "planter"...this one would be so cute in a kitchen. It has little food signs on it! I roughed it up so it has a well worn appearance.

I'm also playing around with wood letters. Not sure if I want to get into those or not, but I did the word LOVE using scrapbook paper. Not sure what I want to provide people with to hang them yet, but maybe I will include magnets and some poster tack and they can do what they like.

I also finished a great full size outdoor birdhouse...like my little decorative ones, but this one is waterproofed for outdoor use. Irv is going to put the eyelets on it today so I can add some rope or wire for hanging. I can't wait to get it listed! Before you know it the birds will be back and looking for new homes!

Well, that is it for today. I am waiting for the hardware store to open so I can go get some glossy, waterproof varnish for my new project! I might have those listed this week as well! I just might get to page two of listings in MyOtherShop yet!!

Enjoy your day everyone....and we will chat again soon!

Boy, you have been busy! Lots of great new things. I love the necklace and hope it works out. If not, she'll have a beautiful necklace anyway!

Thanks for the comment and story. It means a great deal, more than you know. I'm going to begin posting recipes that we've found that work as well as products that don't suck! lol It seems that chocolate cakes work fairly well gluten-free. I guess it's the cocoa that overshadows any other different flavors?

Have a great week!

The necklace is lovely! I hope the ensemble "works."

I clicked on the picture of the planter and got a nice enlarged version....I could see how adorable the paper is! How cute in a kitchen!

Wow! The necklace is gorgeous! Are her shoes bright gold or muted? Perhaps you can keep the style and move the beads to oxidized brass instead of copper. I know a great supplier and may even have enough oxidized brass to gift you for the switch, lobster clasp and jump rings included. Shoot me an e-mail after the fitting, I'd be more than willing to help.

Love the new items-I have yet to look through your shop, but do you take a macro of the paper patterns along with the full view-the paper is beautiful, you should focus in on that to pull views!

The necklace is beautiful! I am sure it will look just fine even with the shoes. They will be hidden by the dress and so far from the neck no one will notice.
Congrats on your productivity!!

Wow, the necklace is so stunning I can't believe it's your first attempt at jewelry! I agree, I think it would look great with gold shoes. I am amazed at all the different things you do and the enthusiasm you have for each project. You inspire me!

P.S. So glad to finally see a photo of you!

I think the necklace is so pretty. I am such a silver with silver and gold with gold person. I have a hard time mixing silver and gold and copper and gold...

Is that you in the photo? If so, you look nothing like I had you pictured! You are very beautiful...not that I had you pictured as ugly...

Ugh...I am trying to say I just had you pictured with short brown hair and well just different than how you look.

Wow, beautiful necklace Kathy. I am soooo impressed, you did good:) As for the shoes, I wonder if they will be seen under the dress as Tresa says. I can't wait to hear more of the story:):)
