If you read yesterday's post, you know that Irv and I could not find a TV stand that we liked that didn't cost a bazillion dollars. So, while I was writing yesterday's post, Irv was taking our big TV cabinet apart so he could take a saw and cut it down to the size TV stand that I wanted. Well, my friends, he did it! We are going to paint it white and give it some awesome new handles too.
Here is how it went...
The cabinet was just too big for our living room so we wanted a change.....
We wanted it to be just the bottom part.....
Irv started to take it apart to see if it was even possible to cut it down to size...
He took off the top, the doors and the back.....
Then he had to lay it down to get the legs and the bottom off so he could get at the sides...
One side off....
Irv doesn't even own a table saw, so he had to use this kind.....
Ready to reassemble.....
Putting the sides back on....
Tah Dah.....
What do you think? Pretty crazy huh?It is exactly what I wanted! I'll post a picture when we have it painted!

Your very own handy man. Send him over here.
Love it!! Doesn't it feel good to make something like that?
That is pretty stinkin amazing! You would never guess it was rebuilt; it looks professionally done and looks great! Way to go, Irv! Can't wait to see the after painting pics.

That is really very clever you are a lucky girl to have an Irv to make your dreams come true I am sure it will look brilliant when you have painted it well done! I have a Tony he is sort of like an Irv.
Love Jillxxxx
How creative! It turned out wonderfully!
Thanks everyone. Every time I look at it I just start laughing! I can't believe he was able to do that. He is already sanding away getting ready to paint it.
that is awesome!
Whoa! Irv is a magic man. I DID NOT expect to see that at the end. Well done! Now I've got six kitchen chairs I'd like Irv to take a look at... :)
Irv is the Superman of carpentry! Maybe you should get him a table saw for Christmas!
The man is a freakin' genius! Nice job, Irv! Makes a great TV stand.
Stupendous! Can I borrow your husband for some handy-man fixin's?
Wonderful. I tried to do something like that once. My result, however, was a pile of boards lying out on the street waiting for the dump truck.
Excellent job on the cabinet make-over! How are you feeling? I hope your back is much better.
