When I saw this.....
I knew that spring was really going to here one of these days... Chee Hoo!!
Irv planted some green peppers, tomatoes and geraniums. They are growing in our basement under their artificial sunshine. There are even lights underneath them that keep them warm. It's all so darn awesome to me. I love it! See the little guys growing in there? Irv does the most amazing job with them!
Last year he planted a ton of vegetable and flower seeds. In his excitement for spring to get here, he planted a lot of them way too early. The result was a jungle in our basement as we waited for the weather to warm up so we could get them outside. Click here to see last year's post about our jungle!
This year he is planting less and being really careful when he starts them....but I can already taste the delicious organic veggies!!

Sure sign of spring!
Oh, fun! Enjoy!
so sweet! we can't start ours for another few weeks--our spring is much later than yours! i see lots of good eating for this summer coming your way!
A jump start to Spring. Excellent!
I can't wait to start planting my garden as well...I really want to do this even though D graduates this May with his masters and we may be moving!
How wonderful, your own organic food source! I hope to have a place this summer where I can do the same.
oh, my heart skipped a beat...i do see them..i do! i do!
Spring Fever can cause me to go overboard too. But what fun watching the carefully nurtured little plants grow under your care.
Oh, I used to love planting in those little mini-greenhouses. I live in the desert now and I haven't had to use them. But that was a great memory. Thank you.
Wow - Irv has quite the green thumb. Wish he could start a jungle in my basement.
You'll be doing some good eating this summer!
Last year, we started ours way too late. Not sure if we will plant this year...so much going on. I do love fresh corn though. Luckily we know lots of farmers and always seem to get a truckload of free corn at least once every summer.
Oh- but isn't it fun watching the little pods sprout?
That's a sight I love! But I better not start mine yet!
