Office Painting

They are painting our office next week. That means that we all have to find other places to be and other things to do. I decided to save all of my filing and reorganizing in our Archive room for next week. I have boxes and boxes of files that need to be refiled into the correct boxes on the shelves. It's so much fun.........I'm kidding of course.

I really can't be near where they are painting though. When we paint at home, we open windows and use fans to keep the smell down....at work...because the rooms they paint are so large, the smell is really overwhelming to me.

Last year they were painting downstairs with a really potent kind of paint, the smell came up into our office and I had to leave a couple of days because my lungs felt like they were on fire. This paint won't be like that, but I'm going to stay as far away from it as I can next week.

We are going from beige to a light blue. Should be a big improvement.I'll try to post some before and after pictures. Can't wait until it's done! Do you like to paint? I love it and as soon as I find some free time I am going to paint our bedroom....and then the bathroom.....and then the guest room....and then the kitchen. By then it will be time to start all over with the living room. :)

I love a new coat of paint--it lifts my spirits and makes me feel like a fresh start!

Filing was always my worst nightmare before I retired. It was just mind-numbing to me. But it has to be done and it sounds like you've chosen the perfect time to do it.

A fresh coat of paint is always nice.

I have to be careful with paint as well. The fumes can overwhelm me and put me in bed with oxygen running 24/7. I love new paint though--it's like clean sheets on the bed--fresh and delightfully clean.

Filing? One of my worst nightmares coming true. I have to do the home files here soon and I'm not looking forward to it!

love the smell of a freshly painted room, but can't stand the smell of the paint going up.

No I don't like to paint!! My husband does all the painting...he hates it too. I haven't painted in 20 years.

I love to paint too. It just changes everything. I am like you about time I have went through the whole painting cycle, it is time to start over again!

There is something about a fresh coat of paint that brightens things up so much! I love to paint rooms-- I don't even mind doing the trim work. I'm always so happy when I'm done and things look all new again.

Now if they could just get rid of the nasty paint small :-)

I do like to paint walls , but not the preparation part which could be difficult if the room was touched by humidity.
Enjoy your new painted office! Light blue sounds great.
