Nope Part 2

My lack of posting isn't because baby boy arrived...it's because I am busy making and listing things for my etsy shops FourDogDay and FourDogVintage. I remembered a little while ago my goal and my vision for the future, and it means I have to work on my shops.

Baby boy is taking his time, although the very wise and educated doctors have been saying "soon" for quite some time. Baby boy has a different definition of soon! :)

Tresa is doing well...as well as a very, very expectant mom can be doing. She is still working, but yesterday decided to work from home. Depending on how last night went and whether she got any sleep, she may be doing the same today.

So we are still anxiously awaiting the little man's arrival....looking forward to introducing ourselves, touching those soft little cheeks and smelling that beautiful baby smell.

Announcement will be coming soon. Hope all is well with you!

New Treasures

I'm working today in my shop, but I wanted to show you what we found this morning when we were out and about. We will be in the city tomorrow and I will take lots of pictures of baby things...we are counting down the days until our little guy's arrival.

Wonderful old grass shears
Darling little rose covered tins

Very old electric grill...looks perfect for grilled cheese!

Charming Avon Butter Dish

Old Thermos....I remember these well!

and a very old nutcracker....a style I've never seen before. :)
Everything will be in Four Dog Vintage later today! Chat with you soon!

My New Vintage Life

I can't even begin to tell you how much fun I am having with my new vintage shop, Four Dog Vintage. I've only sold one little glass, but every day I am adding new things and hopefully the sales will follow.

Talk about having a lot to learn.....I am reading and reading and reading. It is a lot of work. It's more than just buying some old things and throwing them in your shop. You have to take good pictures, give good descriptions and make sure that you are not overpricing your items or even worse UNDER pricing them. That is one of the hardest things for me. Here are a few of things I did list this week.

I have a couple of things sitting here that I can't list, because I can't price them. One is an old wood working plane. I can't find another one anywhere exactly like it. Some of the planes I see for sale are pretty cheap and others are pretty expensive. I will keep looking until I know that I am pricing it right.

The other thing is an old glass washboard. There are lots of them for sale...some really cheap and some not so cheap. I can only find one like mine for sale anywhere and it pretty expensive. That leads me to believe that this one isn't as common as others and is probably worth more.

Then there is the very old china. I listed a cup and saucer in my shop and really wasn't sure about the price. I couldn't find the pattern anywhere. It seems to be older than everything I see on line by that company. So, I'm waiting to list any more of it until I have a better idea on what it is worth. Here it is. It's so pretty.

See, it's a lot of work....but it's fun work....and now I have to get back to it. I hope you are all well. I will be seeing Tresa on Sunday. I'll take pictures. We are down to about 35 days until baby boy's due date. I am so excited!

Is it Just Me....

or are a lot of people not blogging as often as they use to? During the winter it seemed as though everyone I followed had a new post every day.

This summer I've noticed a lot of people missing lots of days of posting...just like me. I just don't have the time. If I want to keep my etsy shops going, I have to work in the evening...and that is what I am doing.

Are you blogging as much as you were, or have you slowed down a bit? If you have slowed down is it because you have more to do in the summer or you are just tired of blogging?

Just curious.....

Whew! What A Day!

Well, Four Dog Vintage is now open and I am so excited. I started photographing and listing things this morning and spent the entire day on it. I did get eight things listed and worked in FourDogDay for a little while too. Tomorrow will be more of the same. Here are a few of my favorites. You can click on the pictures for details.

I decided to relist a lot of things in FourDogDay too. I had let a lot of things expire when I was trying to decide which direction I wanted to go with the shop. Now that we've opened a second shop, I decided to relist my pillows, coasters, pins and even some of my picture frames. I feel really good about it so I know it's the right decision. I will be making new things, but just not at the pace I was able to before. My time will be divided between the two shops. So....we shall see how it goes.

I also had this awesome flower girl basket sitting in my workshop. Long story....but I made two of them for a relative's wedding and they ended up only needing one. I really wasn't sure what to do with it, so I listed it in FourDogDay today. I think it's so pretty. I'm hoping someone will be able to use it.

Baby update.....the doctor said that if Tresa went into labor now they wouldn't stop it. I am getting more nervous by the day. We are down to 38 days! We are going there next weekend to work on the baby's room. I can't wait!

So, what have you been up to the past few days? Anything interesting? What's on your agenda for tomorrow? For me it's early morning grocery shopping and then back to the workshop! Have a super day tomorrow and I'll chat with you soon!
