Couch Covers

Okay my friends....I am on a mission to find a great couch cover this weekend. We have had covers before and rarely have we ever found one that actually fits the couch we are putting it on. I have been frantically searching online and when I find one I think might work....the reviews are horrific. I found one and all the people talked about was how every little piece of fuzz, lint and pet hair stuck to it...never to come off again! I don't want a hairy couch cover.

I don't want the fake suede stuff, and I don't want anything fuzzy, I'm not sure I want the stretchy ones either....I need sturdy and pet proof!

I think because the chairs are a solid khaki color, I need something that would go with that, but not khaki. I would love to get a stripe of some kind, but I'm not seeing many of those.

Have you bought couch covers in the past? What worked? What didn't work? Where did you buy it? I'll be on my computer searching and searching until I find something....then I have to go and buy it. HELP!!

Back update....it's slowly getting a bit better and I see the chiro again today! Chee Hoo!

This is a great post, Kathy! I'm in the middle of searching for furniture slipcovers as well! Strange minds think alike and all that jazz :D

My friend bought the cotton duck ones. They were really cute and had bows on the front. The bad news was that every time someone sat down, it would come out and had to be redone. It looked pretty while no one was sitting on it.

I'm thinking about the stretchy kind myself. Maybe it will stay better.

Hi Kathy,
I am interested in finding couch (actually love seat) covers, too. I found one on ebay that I thought would work, but it just didn't. Others I see in stores are so high priced. I would like to get one that is reasonably priced and sturdy. I've almost given up. I have thought of just throwing a painter's drop cloth from Home Depot over my love seats and tucking them in, but I'm afraid that would look dorky. I've pretty much given up, but if you do find something let us know!

Couch covers are hard! I had a friend who is an amazing seamstress, make me one. It fit our sofa like a glove!

Thanks for visiting my blog!

Maybe there's someone on Etsy who makes custom covers and could offer advice?

I have never had slipcovers made so I'm not much help in that area. With all the animals we have, we always throw a quilt over the couch..colorful and looks like it belongs. Just a suggestion!?!?!

Thanks everyone. Well, I certainly can't make a cover myself and in all honestly, I don't want to spend a lot to have one made. Our dogs are on our furniture all the time. I need something that can be taken off and washed.....a lot.

I have always loved the quilt idea and that might be the way to go as long as it can be thrown in my washer.

I will be hunting this weekend....I need something soon. Thanks so much for your help!
